Task: Information Assurance (IA) Support for OSD

Project Description: The Office of the Secretary of Defense Networks and Information Integration (OSD NII) Information Assurance (IA) Directorate needed technical analysis support for the revision of DoD Instruction O-8530.2, " Computer Network Defense (CND) Service Provider Program“ -directed responsibilities and providing technical support for the CND Service Provider Certification & Accreditation (C&A) Program and DoD components. Since February 2005, ProSol has supported the DoD CND Architect in the development of policy as well as the technical analysis of CND architecture related implementations and proposals. Our team assists OSD with revising DoD CND documents and manuals, balancing security and convenience. We analyze the DoD CND architecture to identify gaps within the architecture. ProSol is the lead for a pilot that measures how effective an Agency Computer Network Defense program performs defending itself from adversaries. The testing methodology and metrics are presently being vetted through a series of vulnerability assessment pilots with outstanding results and reviews.
