ProSol is a growing company that has gotten to where it is today, mainly because its strong leadership. Founded and led by a former Marine, and supported by executives of various industry organizations, ProSol has grown into a top-notch Professional Services government contracting organization. From the profiles below, it is easy to see why we have been so successful since our inception.
President and CEO
Michael J. Dean
Founding the firm in February 2002, and bringing over 25 years of government and military experience, Mike Dean has created an organization in which employee growth is a must — learning new things every day is challenging and rewarding. He is a leader and mentor with proven track records in a variety of fast-paced environments. Mike is known as a team builder; providing a fresh, yet assertive approach with creative problem solving techniques. His professional areas of expertise include leadership, organizational management, strategic/operational/contingency planning, project/program management, reconnaissance, special operations, combating terrorism/security, Joint fires, and training information management and information technology (IM/IT).
As CEO of ProSol, Mike is the lead agent for business development and marketing to include the development of strategies and sales tactics for Federal Agencies supporting U.S. National Defense efforts. He also provides subject matter expertise in:
- Joint Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare, Precision Strike, Joint Special Operations (black & white), Intelligence, Counter-Terror & Homeland Defense (includes research, analysis, planning)
- Course of action recommendations for Senior Leadership including Commercial/Government Business Process Improvement, Program Management, Configuration and Change Management
- Training support for military/industry to include such highly complex topics as infrared lasers, electro optical sensors and global positioning systems
In order to emphasize professional development and set an example for his employees and partners, Mike continues to improve himself through various courses, seminars and daily reading. He holds a Masters in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickenson University, and a Bachelors in Political Science from Miami University. He is also a member of several professional associations including the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Marine Corps Association, Marine Executive Association, and Vistage.
Director of Administration
LuAnn Dean
LuAnn Dean, Director of Administration, has been with ProSol since its inception in 2002. As Director of Administration, she manages a staff of employees who are critical to supporting both our employees and customers. She is responsible for directing the organization's overall financial policies. She manages all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. LuAnn also supervises contracts to ensure that our agreements reflect the best interests of the company and that contract performance statements and amendments are completed as necessary. In addition, she oversees the functioning of ProSol facilities and building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, and maintenance.
Prior to joining ProSol, LuAnn oversaw daily operations of several medical facilities located between Washington, D.C. and North Carolina. Additionally, she was the proprietor of a gourmet wine shop in Surf City, NC. LuAnn also volunteers for numerous organizations in support of a variety of charities.
Director, Defense Division
Jim Cooney
Jim Cooney, ProSol’s Director, Defense Division is responsible for various DoD affiliated programs and business development initiatives. Jim also contributes to Team ProSol’s strategic planning efforts.
A retired Marine Corps colonel, Jim served 31 years, mostly in aviation assignments where he was an attack helicopter pilot. His staff tours included a Deputy G4 (Logistics) assignment for the First Marine Division, Vice J-3, US SOUTHCOM in Miami, FL and a senior position in the Office of the Director, C4, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Washington, DC.
Jim commanded a light/attack helicopter squadron and, later, a Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, AZ. A graduate of the Marine Corps War College, he also served as a faculty member for the Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
A native of Weymouth, Massachusetts, Jim completed his BA and MS degrees at Boston College.
Director, Federal Division
Matt Mckeon
As the Director of ProSol’s Defense Division, is responsible for almost $5 Million in revenue in 5 programs. He oversees the execution of the 5 programs and guides the identification of new business opportunities to include the USMC CEOss indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. Leveraging his 24 years of military service, Matt also guides ProSol’s strategic planning efforts.
A retired Air Force Colonel, Matt is a command pilot with combat experience in the F-117A. He commanded a USAF fighter squadron, a fighter group, and most recently served as the Inspector General, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, where he led a selectively manned agency. In this capacity, he was responsible for the Command's Congressional and IG complaints programs and the fraud, waste, and abuse program. His staff experience includes a tour in J-3 Current Operations at the Joint Special Operations Command.
Matt has an extensive academic resume that includes a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and a Masters degree in Management from Troy State University. He also attended several military schools including Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, Armed Forces Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. Matt also earned two other Master’s degrees; one in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and the other in Airpower Art and Science from the School of Advanced Airpower Studies at Maxwell AFB.
Director, Southeast Division
Bruce Gombar
Colonel Bruce Gombar, USMC (Retired), is a native of Massachusetts. Having grown up in the Springfield area, he attended the local schools during his formative years, graduating from West Springfield High School in 1963. After attending Alfred University in upstate New York for one year, he transferred to the University of Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1968. He then attended graduate school at University of Massachusetts for a year before joining the Marine Corps.
He entered the Marine Corps on April 19, 1969 and retired on September 30, 2000. During his career, he held a variety of command and staff positions, serving multiple tours in Camp Lejeune, Quantico and Okinawa, and also serving at MCRD San Diego, Cherry Point, and Camp Pendleton. He also attended a number of formal military schools and in 1986, was an Honor Graduate of the Marine Corps’ Command and Staff College. During Desert Shield/Desert Storm, he commanded First Battalion, Eighth Marines, one of the three battalions that conducted the breach of the Iraqi defenses in the 2 nd Marine Division Zone of Action. His last assignment before retirement was as the Chief of Staff, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
Immediately following his retirement from the Marine Corps, he became the Director of Occupational Extension Training Programs in the Division of Continuing Education at Coastal Carolina Community College. From May 1, 2002 through 15 June, 2006, he was employed by the Onslow County Committee of 100 as the Director of Economic Development for Onslow County and the City of Jacksonville. He has been employed by Professional Solutions, LLC since September, 2006 and is currently the Director, Southeast Division.
Bruce is married to the former Jackie McClary of Alexandria, Virginia. They have two children and four grandchildren.
