ProSol supports the Race for the Cure and Tour de Cure.
We had a team of walkers and runners participate in the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure in early June – a 5K walk supporting those affected with Breast Cancer.
We also had one of our Division Directors, Matt McKeon, ride in the Tour de Cure – a 100 mile bike race benefiting the American Diabetes Association.
Congrats to all of the athletes and many thanks to the sponsors!
ProSol Expertise Cited in Inside The Navy Magazine – June 2009
ProSol’s Rebecca deGuzman has played an invaluable role in supporting our customer at the Marine Corps Center for Irregular Warfare (MCCIW). She recently was cited in an article regarding the record attendance of non-DoD personnel in an interagency wargame. An excerpt of the article is below:
Having such a significant presence of non-DOD entities was a “high priority,” according to Rebecca deGuzman, an interagency analyst for the Marine Corps Center for Irregular Warfare, which helped organize the game. For the first time, major non-DOD players such as the State Department and USAID were also involved in the game during the planning process, which began in September.
“We attempted to create a realistic context for where these kinds of operations will occur -- steady state, conflict prevention -- these kind of activities,” deGuzman said in an April 30 phone interview. “And we’ve learned that often in training or education, gaming, that sort of educational venue, these other partners are kind of an afterthought. And when it occurs that way, then the context is flawed from the beginning.” The result of this year’s effort, deGuzman said, was that seeds of trust were planted. “In having the right people there, an authentic context there from the beginning, we were better positioned to establish trusting relationships,” she said. “Not only for the game, but as these practitioners go into the field.”

The Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's ProSol Team Supports Shuttle Launch
The Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's ProSol team actively supports all launches at what they affectionately call the "rocket ranch". Last week was no different with the launch of the Shuttle Atlantis (STS-125) in support of the Hubble space telescope repair mission.
Suzan Hahne, Administrative Assistant, provides administrative support by keeping up with the paperwork and ensures everyone attends the many required meetings. Ken Miller, Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention & Safety, is an integral part of the post-launch pad recovery team. As Safety Officer, he insures the team wears the appropriate personnel protective equipment, accounts for all personnel, and ensures all safety requirements are followed. Ned Scheerhorn and Darrell Miller, the Emergency Management Team, attend pre-launch briefings, conduct pre-launch checks, manage and operate the Emergency Operations Center and Mobile EOC, and are part of the Launch Contingency Team. This team of subject matter experts is assembled for every launch to handle any launch disaster and subsequent rescue of personnel. In addition, Ned and Darrell developed and update the Cape's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan which covers response to emergencies including launch-related disasters.
After a successful launch of the Shuttle Atlantis, the team celebrated at Grill's Restaurant with CEO and President, Mike and LuAnn Dean.
